Wall coverage 0.0%

An animated diagram of a bladder shown as a sphere. A cystoscope's cone of view sweeps across the inner wall, filling in the area it has seen and marking two detected lesions. The dome stays unscanned, and a running counter shows what fraction of the wall has been covered.

Cystal Clear

A guidance system for bladder cancer.

It is one of the most common cancers in the West, and the single most expensive cancer for a health system to treat.

  • 6th Most common cancer United States
  • 5th Most common cancer European Union
  • 1st Most expensive to treat Of any cancer, per patient

The treatment plan is the burden

After a first diagnosis, patients return for a cystoscopy every three to six months for five years or more, and in some cases for life. It is an onerous schedule to live with, and recurrence rates across it remain disastrous.

Some of that recurrence never left

A share of what is recorded as recurrence is residual disease the first procedure did not find. The bladder is a balloon, examined through a narrow scope, freehand, with nothing keeping track of which parts of the wall have already been inspected.

So we are building the map

A spatial visualisation system that shows the surgeon, during the procedure, which corners of the bladder they have covered and which they have not.
